Overview
The 16 mm Grade 80 foundry hook (SLR-116-8t) is a forged alloy steel lifting hook designed for applications that demand an oversized throat opening, most notably the cast-metal and foundry industry, where the wide opening must accommodate the trunnions of a moulding box. The hook is equally at home in any heavy lifting scenario where a standard hook throat is too narrow.
Manufactured from high-grade alloy steel and subjected to a quench-and-temper heat treatment process, each hook carries a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 8 tonnes and is proof-load tested to 2.5× WLL, with an ultimate breaking load of 4× WLL. The hook connects to Grade 80 chain or wire rope via G-Link or BL couplers and is permanently marked with brand, WLL, batch number and size for traceability.
