Types of Lashing and Towing Equipment:
Low Loader Chains
Securing heavy things during transportation, especially on trailers, requires the use of low loader chains. By keeping machinery securely in place, our chains of lashing equipment help to avoid movement that might cause mishaps or damage.
At the Ratchet Shop in order to make the Low Loader Chains we use the same short link grade-80 steel chain that is mostly used in heavy-duty lifting chains. Four sizes are available to customers, with thicknesses ranging from 8 to 16 mm and load capacities ranging from 8,000 to 32,000 kg.
Furthermore, these chains can also be ordered with hooks on both ends or in lengths ranging from 1 to 20 mm. On request, longer chains can also be set up. Customers might choose to include a load binder with their order to increase security. However, the ordering procedure is simple: just choose the required chain size and adhere to the directions to finish the order. Customers can get advice from The Ratchet Shop if they need any help.
We provide the following low loaders to make lifting easier for you.
Important characteristics of low-load chains
- High Lashing Capacity: This lashing equipment can efficiently secure large gear and equipment because they are made to endure significant stresses.
- Sturdy Construction: Low loader chains are made of materials with great strength, which makes them resistant to any damage and guarantees their longevity even under harsh conditions.
- Standards Compliance: At the Ratchet Shop we offer strong lashing and towing equipment that meet international safety requirements, such as EN 12195-3, guaranteeing reliability and security of loads.
Guidelines for Usage:
- Appropriate Tensioning: To attain the proper tension and guarantee that the weight is firmly secured without putting stress on the chain.
- Frequent Inspection: Examine the chains for wear or damage, such as cracks, corrosion, or distortion, before each usage.
- Avoid Overloading: The integrity and safety of the chains may be impacted if you exceed their designated lashing capacity.
- Edge Protection: To avoid damage or chain cutting, use precautions when lashing over sharp edges.
Load Binders
When moving huge loads, our load binders are crucial equipment for securing and tightening chains, which guarantees stability and safety throughout the journey.
At the Ratchet Shop, we use forged steel to make our heavy-duty load chain binders. They have a painted finish for strength and wear resistance. Furthermore, we have a variety of load binders in stock that can secure loads up to 18,000 kg and are made to fit various chain sizes.
Hence, these binders are available in several varieties, each designed to meet the needs and preferences of a particular application while maintaining efficient performance under all circumstances.
Types of Load Binders:
- Ratchet Load Binders: Chain tension can be precisely adjusted with our load binders. They are perfect for applications needing precise tension since they are easy to use and offer regulated tightening.
- Lever load binders: Sometimes this towing equipment is referred to as snap binders, you can tighten this chain just by pulling on a lever. Although they may be applied more quickly, they need more physical effort and caution because improper handling might cause the lever to snap back.
Key Features to Consider:
- Working Load Limit (WLL): The greatest load that the binder can securely support is indicated by the working load limit, or WLL. So, always selecting a binder with a WLL equal to or greater than the weight of the load being secured is essential.
- Durability: We use premium materials in our load binders to guarantee longevity and reliable performance under demanding circumstances.
- Ease of Use: Features that improve user comfort and safety include ergonomic handles, and smooth and easy-to-release designs.
It is quite important to evaluate the particular needs of your load when choosing a load binder and pick one that provides the right amount of strength, durability, and usability. Hence, make sure the selected load binders meet the needs of your application.
Applications of Lashing and towing Equipment
- Cargo Transport: Secures loads in trucks, ships, and rail transport.
- Construction: Fastens heavy machinery and materials during transit.
- Vehicle Recovery: Assists in towing and roadside recovery.
- Industrial Use: Stabilizes goods in warehouses and storage.
- Marine & Offshore: Prevents cargo movement on ships and oil rigs.
- Aviation: Secures freight in aircraft cargo holds.
Tips for Using Lashing and Towing Equipment Safely
Using lashing and towing equipment safely is essential to avoiding mishaps and damaging goods. Before using any equipment, make sure to check it for damage or wear and tear. To prevent slippage during transportation, securely fasten the hooks, chains, and straps.
Furthermore, to maintain stable loads, adhere to the manufacturer's weight restrictions and employ the proper tensioning procedure. To keep your equipment durable, store it in a clean, dry location as well.
Certification & Compliance
Make sure that the lashing and towing equipment you use satisfies industry safety regulations. Products of The Ratchet Shop are certified and ensure dependability, robustness, and longevity.
In addition to improving safety, we offer compatible equipment to guarantee legal compliance and lower the possibility of fines or operational issues.
